Here's Kingfisher's account
Well we survived the elements and managed double fgures - just! Ten brave hashers & harriettes turned up to run a trail that had the walkers constantly ahead of the 3 -5 runners. We started out running straight into a blizzard (3rd of the day for the Hares) and finding the flour or chalk was challenging!
As with all my "urban" runs we kept road use to a minimum and the run actually managed to wind around the West St Leonards area for considerable time with the back-checks almost touching! Finally we broke free from West St Leonards and the shiggy, and set off for Maze Hill, having the Beer Stop in the park. After that, whilst the front runners went on an elaborate loop through St Leonards that eventually brought them back to the park entrance, the walkers exited the park and did an On-In along the seafront. It was the right run for the conditions.
The Hash Circle was held, in true Hastings alchi-style, in the nearby shelter, again amidst sunshine. Notable recipients were, obviously, the Hares; the RA and Asst RA for the weather; the returnees (Steve & Clare); and the Mothers. The latter were kindly given roses by Queenfisher (well it is one way for her to ensure she gets some)! Then it was On-On to the Bo-Peep for the mother of all roasts!!
