The 160th Hash was on
December 4th

the hares in the rain

Dogsbody says
" Well - what can we say, we think it was another first!
Galloping Gourmet & Dogsbody set off with high hopes on Saturday morning to set the Xmas Hash, only to be forced home again for bacon butties and a warm cup of coffee due to the torrential rain.
With much determination Galloping Gourmet set out again in the afternoon leaving Dogsbody at home to make the mince pies for the following day.

The afternoon got darker, the rain got heavier and when, at last, a drowned Galloping Gourment returned home, it was to announce that the trail we had carefully walked the last two weekends was washed out.
One roadway had puddles so deep that when he dropped his torch in one the water went up to his elbow and he still couldn't reach the bottom. Another field was flooded and the dyke and ditch flowing too fast to allow even intrepid hashers to walk along a slippery path in between.

What a disaster, and all those mince pies! Looking up to our leader, Jobsworth, and hoping for some fatherly advice, Dogsbody phoned to find out what to do. The advice was, " we will turn out Sunday, not many others will, and we can go for a gentle stroll until the pub opens" - good enough for us anyway.

Sunday morning arrives - wet and windy. Mulled wine mulled, mince pies packed away, beer stowed and off we go to Glyne Gap to discover a very big turn out indeed. Oh dear. Still it stopped raining and after explaining the situation it was decided that the runners would go off along the seafront for a run and the walkers would amble behind to meet back at the car park before going on to the Bull.

I can only say for the walkers that we had a really good time, thanks to Blow Job, Well Hung &9 1/2, who led us through Bexhill Old Town into the back of Sidley and, surprise surprise, onto the part of the trail that Galloping Gourmet had managed to lay.
2 hours later we arrived at the car park to discover that the runners had been back ages,( slight discrepancy on time allowed for the venture), had had the circle and gone to the cafe for a warm up - don't blame them either. As the cafe is rather small and doesn't have the attributes of the Doctor's Tardis, the walkers went on to the Bull, with a runner sent to the cafe to inform others of this decision.
Unfortunately ,the Bull car park was teeming and so plan, er 94 by now I think, was set in motion, and off we went to the Bo Peep where we had a lovely lunch, although only Kingfisher and Jobsworth made it from the other party.

Galloping Gourmet &Dogsbody hope that all enjoyed the - um - run?, mince pies and mulled wine and look forward to Hashing with you all next year.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all."
